JBL Teams Up with Berlin's Ante Run Club to Amplify Community and Sound

Berlin’s Ante Run Club Joins Forces with JBL to Redefine Urban Running

On the streets of Berlin, something more than fitness is happening—it’s a movement built on creativity, connection, and sound. Ante, the Berlin-based fashion label, has taken its weekend run club to new heights by collaborating with audio giant JBL, putting the newly launched Flip 7 speaker to the test in a bold and energetic community event.

As co-founder Christian Zellin describes it, the club is “a safe space… where people can express themselves in the most unpretentious, authentic—and sweaty—way possible.” But this time, it wasn’t just a run. It was a curated sonic experience designed to push boundaries, foster connections, and celebrate movement as a form of self-expression.

A New Kind of Activation: Running With Sound

The JBL x Ante collaboration wasn’t a traditional brand activation—it was a shared experience, centered around rhythm, movement, and people. Starting at LAP café in Berlin’s creative hub of Mitte, runners gathered to meet new faces, grab coffee, and kick off with a high-energy warm-up led by co-founder Marcus Butler.

“Music can completely shift your mindset,” said Butler. “You might feel tired or disconnected, but one track can flip your entire mood.”

Flip 7 Hits the Streets of Berlin

Outfitted with the rugged new JBL Flip 7, the group hit the streets with tech-house beats driving the pace. Featuring JBL’s Auracast™ function, multiple speakers were wirelessly synced, creating a collective sound system that followed the runners along the inner-city route. From the riverside paths to the Brandenburger Tor, the sound was consistent, portable, and energizing.

Mounted via the speaker’s durable carabiner clip, the Flip 7’s drop-proof and weather-resistant design proved ideal for the urban environment. The soundscape was fluid—shifting from house to tech to funk—matching every phase of the journey.

Community First, Always

As the group neared Gleisdreieck Park, sunlight broke through Berlin’s evening sky—an unplanned but perfect ending to the route. Runners gathered in a circle, catching their breath as the speakers softened into funky, groovy tunes for the cool-down. With brownies and coconut water in hand, participants lingered, connecting with fellow creatives, musicians, and founders.

“What started as a few friends running together became a platform for connection,” shared co-founder Julian Weigl. “It’s accessible, it clears your mind, and it sparks creativity.”

Running Into the Future

Run clubs are multiplying across Berlin—and now with JBL’s Flip 7 leading the charge, they’re becoming immersive, musical meetups that redefine what it means to move in unison. For Ante, it’s about staying on the pulse of a city that never stops evolving—and creating a space where sweat, sound, and style collide.

As Weigl puts it, “Running is where ideas flow. The Flip 7 just made them louder.”
